"Community Heroes" Trash Can Art #1
Monday July 20, 2009
Public art campaign by at least 16 artists to paint the trash cans that line downtown (about 16). The only rules being that we have to stay within the boundaries and be family friendly.
Mine is the one in front of the Huntington Bank and Municipal offices (the Mayor’s pad), across from the Lincoln Theater.
This is the first panel of the Community Heroes tribute trash can. Image #1, a firefighter. This is looking east on Lincoln Way. There was a community concert a block away and I was serenaded by live polka music. There must have been at least a dozen people walk past me and everybody had nothing but nice things to say about my art and the project in general.
This took about 2 hours to complete.
